Who are the Paliban?

We, the Paliban, are the fans of Sarah Palin. We are Fundamentalist Christians who believe in the entire Bible, and pray for the day when God's Law is the law of the land. We are Christian Reconstructionists, just like we believe Sarah Palin to be!

Why Paliban?

We've received comment from a handful of folks that our name, Paliban, is offensive to them. They say that we sound "just like those fundamentalists in Afghanistan" and wonder if we're trying to compare ourselves to them.

The answer?

While we do not agree with the Taliban's Jesus-hating religious choice, we do agree with them on an important point: God's Law is written in the Bible*, and we should follow ALL of it.

ALL of it means ALL, not just the bits we happen to like or find convenient! That means outlawing adultery, divorce, homosexuality, working on the Sabbath, wearing of blended fabrics, and polyculture, among other things!

Since this is not a Bible study site, we here provide a link for you to follow if you wish to read more about Biblical Law being in force today.

* Yes, we're well aware that the Taliban ignore God and the Bible for their moon god "Allah" and the Koran. Or Qu'ran. Or however you want to spell it. No need to point that out to us, thanks!

Why Sarah Palin?

Our inspiration, Sarah Palin, is a woman shaped by God's Word. As noted in this Wall Street Journal article, Governor Palin was raised in an Assemblies of God church:

At the Pentecostal church where Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin worshipped for more than two decades, congregants speak in tongues and are part of a faith that believes humanity is in its "end times" -- the days preceding a world-ending cataclysm bringing Christian redemption and the second coming of Jesus.

The Rev. Ed Kalnins, pastor of the Pentecostal church, Wasilla Assembly of God, says he has told church members that God put President George W. Bush in office and that America is locked in a "holy war" with terrorists.

Mr. Kalnins's views and the teachings of his church provide a glimpse of the religious upbringing of Gov. Palin, 44 years old, whose Christian credentials and antiabortion views have been lauded by social conservatives.

...

At Mr. Kalnins's invitation, Gov. Palin appeared on stage in June before a youth group at Wassila Assembly of God, where she reminisced fondly about getting baptized there, before asking the young people to pray for a proposed natural-gas pipeline in Alaska and for American soldiers.

"Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right also for this country," Gov. Palin said, in a video of the talk posted on the church's Web site. Pray "that our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God. That's what we have to make sure we're praying for: that there is a plan and that plan is God's plan."
The speech mentioned above is posted on the Paliban's home page for you to watch! It's awe-inspiring, her grasp of God's plans; she is so intimately familiar with the Lord that she knows that a $30 billion natural gas pipeline across Alaska is God's Will!

A key part of the speech posted is references by the pastor to Alaska as a refuge in the coming End Times; the group Governor Palin was addressing is the church's evangelizing class, who are sent out to teach of the End Times.

Now, some people don't like Jesus, or Governor Palin's positions. From that same WSJ article:
David Gushee, a Christian ethicist at Mercer University in Atlanta, says he is troubled that a public official might presume that government action could be God's intent. "I would never think it is appropriate to describe the actions of the United States military or the strategies of our commanders as a plan from God," Mr. Gushee says.

Mr. Gushee says Gov. Palin should explain her beliefs concerning the inevitability of a cataclysm and the end of time. "To me, it is highly relevant to someone who potentially has her hand on the nuclear button," he says. "If that is her worldview, I would want to know about that."
Mr. Gushee clearly fails to realize that whatever happens in the world is a manifestation of God's Will! Let's review:

  • God is omniscient; that means He knows everything.
  • God is omnipotent; that means He is all-powerful.
  • So, God knows everything that happens, has happened, or will happen, and has the ability to change any of these things.

This means one of the following:

  • Everything that happens is God's Will. Births, deaths, genocide, etc.
  • God knows, but doesn't care what happens. (That's not OUR God!)
  • God isn't omniscient, isn't omnipotent, or both. (That's not OUR God!)
  • God doesn't exist. (We're not buying THAT!)
  • As you can see, the only viable option is the fact that every single thing that happens is God's Will.

May God's Will be done, and Sarah Palin lead us toward Operation Rapture and His Law!

    Our Prayer

Jesus, Source of all Truth, use us to purge America's depraved soul and return her to You!
